The new Spies Hecker Permasolid®
SpectroFlex 5400 is an efficient colored
surfacer system.
Whatever the job – boot lid, bonnet
or vehicle exterior – car makers
often resort to pigmented surfacers
in series production. On the exterior,
this pigmented material masks stone
chipping. On interior surfaces at the
front and rear, the colored film of
surfacer serves as a substitute for
the topcoat. For the refinisher this
means that the original color can only
be correctly restored by using a colored
surfacer system.
Spies Hecker’s
Permasolid SpectroFlex 5400 is a multi-talented
mixing system for reliable repair
of basic paint layers. The principle
is simple: The bodyshop uses six basic
colors (white, black, red, green,
yellow and blue) to mix a variety
of solid colors – quickly and
efficiently. The precise mixing formulae
and the new Permasolid SpectroFlex
5400 color fan with its 109 color
chips makes work much easier.
“The extended surfacer system
makes a high-grade and highly cost-effective
refinish.” stresses European
Product Manager Ralf Kiesel. The reason
for its efficient application: “On
the exterior, the colored surfacer
system performs equally well as a
wet-on-wet surfacer and high-grade
sanding surfacer.” In practical
application, this means that electrocoated
replacement parts can be painted quickly
and cost-effectively using the wet-on-wet
method.
Damage to car interiors, which were
originally coated with colored surfacer
only, can be repaired directly with
Permasolid SpectroFlex 5400. No base
coat, no clear coat. The application
of Permasolid SpectroFlex 5400 in
the interior at the front and rear
reduces the quantities of paint applied
by up to 30 per cent and the time
taken by almost 40 per cent, together
resulting in accelerated spray booth
output.
